Kevin Nealon is an Emmy and SAG-nominated actor and comedian who sets himself apart from other comedic performers with his unique sense of humor, dry wit and likable demeanor. Nealon is best known for his nine-year stint as a cast member of NBC’s Saturday Night Live (1986-1995), creating some of the show’s most memorable characters, including ‘The Subliminal Man’ and ‘Hans and Franz, as well as his recurring role as an anchor on ‘Weekend Update’. Nealon also received critical acclaim for his role in the hit Showtime series Weeds, currently produces and hosts his digital series Hiking with Kevin and tours his stand-up globally.  Additional television roles include two critically acclaimed stand-up specials for Showtime; and a number of appearances on Hot In Cleveland, Franklin & Bash, Monk, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Still Standing. Nealon has also found great comedic success in his extensive film career sharing the screen with the likes of Jack Nicholson, Adam Sandler, David Spade, Eddie Murphy,  Steve Martin, Jonah Hill and many others.

"WE WANT THE FUNK!" is a PBS Independent Lens documentary that explores the history and cultural impact of funk music. The film delves into funk's roots in African, soul, and early jazz, tracing its rise to prominence and influence on various genres like new wave and hip-hop. It features current and archival interviews with prominent musicians and figures, including Questlove, George Clinton, David Byrne, Fred Wesley, Robert "Kool" Bell, David Bowie, James Brown and Marcus Miller. The documentary also examines funk's connection to the post-Civil Rights Movement era and its role in expressing joy and Black pride.  Q & A with Directors Stanley Nelson and Nicole London to follow.

Join us for our first ever ‘Opening Ceremony’ event: A Tribute to Rod Serling. Mr. Serling was a singular mind, a creative force as well as a teacher and student at Antioch College in Yellow Springs. Come witness his genius and hear about his journey with a Live Radio Play (written by Serling), Presentations from authors Anne Serling (Rod’s daughter) and Mark Dawidziak as well as a classic Twilight Zone episode screening and panel discussion + Co-Presented by Ohio Goes to the Movies, Antioch College & OhioAna Library.

Oscar Award winning Production Designer Hannah Beachler will be on hand to discuss her exceptional career, creative process and local roots. Hannah Beachler is a film production designer whose credits include: Moonlight (Best Picture 2017),Creed, Miles Ahead, Beyoncé's Lemonade, Black Panther, Fruitvale Station, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and most recently Sinners.

Beachler grew up in Centerville, Ohio, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati, studying fashion design. She attended Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio where she studied film. Hannah first collaborated with director Ryan Coogler on 2013's Fruitvale Station and the two have worked together ever since. She is The first African-American to win the Academy Award for Best Production Design and the first-ever female production designer of a Marvel film.
