MISSION
Known for its rich history in the arts, the YSFF creates a compelling annual 3-day event celebrating creativity, diversity and community. Centralized in the heart of the village, the fest is a walkable experience for attendees to take in brand new cutting edge cinema, engage with their favorite filmmakers / artists, experience live music, attend special events and interact with all the Yellow Springs has to offer. In addition, each year the YSFF provides a generous grant to a first time female documentary filmmaker given in the name of Director Julia Reichert. Free seminars conducted by award winning film industry professionals are also given for film and media students to inspire them on their creative journey.
Yellow Springs is centrally located near 3 large metropolitan areas, all less than one hour away. A population of 5 million residents live within a 60-mile radius.
